Facts about the Accreditation Process

  • A poor Accreditation status can be the best way to improve your program.
  • A resident would never lose their position as a result of Accreditation. Provisional approval will NOT affect your ITERs and has no bearing on your FITER.
  • The single most critical "zero-tolerance" issue in Accreditation is intimidation and harassment.
  • Accreditation is singly the most important process that residents can be involved in.
